In February, we are constantly bombarded with the commercialization of love surrounding Valentine’s Day, which makes some feel inadequate and in search for that “special” someone.  At our clinic, we see the tragic consequences of people “looking for love in all the wrong places”.  Patients with both unplanned pregnancies and STDs say: “I never thought this would happen to me.”

For this reason, our nursing staff shares the health benefits of abstinence and how that can be healing physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  A few months ago, we hired a nurse to serve as an Empowerment Coordinator to focus on our sexual integrity education program.  Thanks to a recent donor who helped underwrite some office supplies, she is now equipped to “take the show on the road”.  Many churches, organizations, youth groups, and schools have invited us to talk about sexual health with their teens and young adults.  If you’re interested in Brooke speaking to your group, reach out to us today (brooke@ivhcare.org or 440-2273).

For those women hurt by a past abortion, we’re starting our post-abortive healing support group.  Kris Gaspari, Director of Post-Abortive Healing at the clinic, will facilitate this opportunity for healing. It’s not too late to sign up.  Give us a call or send us an email to begin the healing that you deserve.

Also, a reminder that the Knights of Columbus at St. Anthony’s are organizing a Daddy Daughter Valentine’s Dance, and a portion of the proceeds supports IVHCare.  For more information, contact Paul Comito (comitop2@yahoo.com) or call the parish office at 243-1874.

May God bless you!
