What is a Legacy Giving Program?
A Legacy Giving Program addresses InnerVisions’ growing financial needs by introducing a giving option that provides donors the opportunity to have their immediate or deferred gifts contributed to an endowment, where donated principal will be held and invested.

Why the need for a Legacy Giving Program?
A Legacy Giving Program is a means of addressing the need for additional income sources and to build a capital reserve to support the long-term sustainability and growth of the the life-affirming ministry of InnerVisions.
As a free, nonprofit medical clinic, InnerVisions HealthCare is funded solely by private (non-governmental) charitable donations, in addition to a network of volunteer medical professionals and community volunteers who contribute their services at no cost. Responding to the ever-growing needs, IVHC expanded its services in 2019 and now operates two locations in West Des Moines and the southside of Des Moines. As IVHC continues to grow, the clinic must consider its long-term sustainability by having an adequate capital reserve available to draw upon should unforeseen financial needs or new opportunities arise.
Currently IVHC relies on two primary methods for raising funds; Annual Fundraising and periodic Capital Project Campaigns. With both of these, the donors’ gifts are typically spent now for current operating expenses or the specific purpose of the campaign. A third fundraising method, a Legacy Giving Program, involves an immediate or deferred gift, structured through a charitable giving strategy. The Legacy Giving Program will provide donors the opportunity to have their gift made part of a Legacy Endowment Fund that will provide ongoing income to support the women and babies served by the clinic for years to come.
